Sarah Palin’s Fifth Child is Actually Her Grandson?

As the newly minted Republican Vice Presidential Nominee, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is currently under investigation by an ethics committee for what has been coined as “TrooperGate”, and now she may have an even bigger problem to contend with. Palin claims that her fifth child, Trig Palin, suffers from Down Syndrome. It is a sympathetic cause, indeed, but now there is speculation that Trig is not even her son! If the speculation is proven to be true, Trig is actually her grandson. Her 16-year-old daughter, Bristol, was actually carrying the baby (80% of Down Syndrome cases occur for mothers under the age of 35). The most compelling evidence so far is…

  • On March 6th, 2008, Palin announces that she is 7 months along in her fifth pregnancy, although she does not appear to be pregnant. Even her colleagues and close staff members are surprised.
  • On April 18, 2008, Palin is in Dallas, TX, for the Republican Governor’s Convention. She starts leaking amniotic fluid, but insists on delivering the keynote speech anyway. After the speech, she does not go to the nearest hospital, as would be expected. Instead, she opts to take an 8-hour flight from Texas to Alaska to deliver Trig.
  • In the meantime, Bristol Palin, her sixteen-year-old daughter, has already been out of high school for a period of 5 to 8 months. A case of mononucleosis is cited as the reason for her absence. The typical recovery period for mononucleosis is 2 weeks to 3 months…

Supposedly, The National Enquirer is already investigating the story. Only time will tell if this story has merit, a la the John Edwards affair scandal.

You can read the “evidence” for yourself and view corresponding pictures at dailykos.com

UPDATE #1: Reuters.com just reported today that Bristol Palin is “about 5 months along” with her first child. McCain’s campaign stated that she decided to keep her child and intends to marry the father.

UPDATE #2: dailykos.com just posted a picture of a pregnant Sarah Palin.

UPDATE #3:  Okay, I’m going to raise the white flag on this one.  It appears that Sarah Palin did actually give birth to Trig.  I don’t know why an experienced mother of 4 would choose to take an extended flight from TX to AK (with a layover in Seattle), all while leaking amniotic fluid and fully aware of her child’s Trisomy 21 condition?  I posted this originally because I thought that it was a fair question.  People can (and do) evaluate the information and come to their own conclusions.  In light of the recent John Edwards scandal, who could simply brush it off?  Also, it is biologically possible for a 16-year-old girl to have a baby, so it was not an inconceivable notion (no pun intended).

  1. actually I think John edwards is the father!!! lol

  2. Actually, I think Gov. Palin gave her keynote address in Texas on the 17th. Her water broke (or at least started leaking) that morning. She gave the speech anyway and then left via a flight that had a stopover in Washington State (Seattle?). The baby Trig was supposedly born around 5 AM on the 18th.

He’s not listed at the medical center’s site on the page where they show the newborns by day:

  3. This person met her right before she gave birth. You can’t see the stomach though.

  4. Enjoy your ride on the bandwagon. It will be stopping soon.

  5. Well study shows already, the investigation has revealed. Good luck to Sarah and her 16-year old daughter and to her so called fifth son…

  6. Palin is in fact Trig’s mother. Bristol Palin is pregnant at the moment, to her high school sweetheart whom she recently married. Here is an image that confirms that Bristol was pregnant when Palin was announced Vice President Nominee for the Republican Party.

There is no way possible for Bristol to have had a child in April and to be so heavily pregnant now.

  7. This useless lie and drive to hide from real issues is simply stupid. Can’t we focus on important topics… and this story has already been killed and corrected by the truth anyhow.

  8. yea it’s actually my kid,but I’m not claiming responsiblity, it was a wild weekend in Alaska….don’t ask :-9

  9. I’m confused. When President Clinton used an intern for a condom that was his “personal life” and had nothing to do with his qualifications for office.

    And this is….?

  10. I’m definitely not a McCain supporter, but I don’t see how this has anything to do with Palin’s fitness for the position of VP. Quite frankly, this is the kind of nasty gossip and smearing I’d expect to see from McCain’s campaign.

Whether the kid is her son or her grandson is none of our business. I really don’t see the point in perpetuating this kind of thing. But if you’re a reader of the National Enquirer, it doesn’t surprise me.

As to the statistics you reported, here is what they actually say:

While the likelihood of giving birth to a child with Down syndrome increases with maternal age; nevertheless, 80% of babies with Down syndrome are born to women under 35 years of age, as women in that age group give birth to more babies overall.

  11. […] And the most ridiculous, unsubstantial dirt yet – she may have covered up her daughter’s teenage pregnancy, passing her daughter’s child off as her own because of her religious background and pro-life views.  I kid you not, the blogs are all over this rumor: https://thedailypage.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/sarah-palins-fifth-child-is-actually-her-grandson/ […]

  12. I hope the liberals keep wasting their time with silly attempts at character assasination and continue to avoid substantive debate. Of course, on both counts they fail. Unfortunately, they have already, through their brain-washing education system and media monopoly, so dumbed down the American populace that we are distracted by smoke screens and cannot think clearly enough to see the obvious: socialism is unreasonable.

  14. Hey Jeff, How do you debunk a rumor by discrediting an undated photo by dating it and then posting more undated photo’s as proof to the contrary ? The writer of your linked post states that “These appear to have been taken” during a certain time frame. Wow, that’s convincing.

  15. I think Sarah Palin is the mother of Trig. I also think that if she insisted on giving her speech on April 18th after her waters broke, and then insisted on going on that 8 hours flight back to Alaska was because she knew that doing so could kill the fetus, and hoped that it would – a form of passive abortion which would save her face with regard to her position about abortion. It didn’t work, and now she is saddled with a Down’s Syndrome child.

  16. Math doesn’t seem to be anyone’s strong suite. Bristol cannot have delivered a child in April 18 and be 5 months pregnant on Sept. 1. NO WOMAN is thinking of sex the day after birth. Murder maybe, not sex.

  17. Chris: I tried pointing that out elsewhere and it seems to be falling on deafened ears.
