In a case that has taken 10 years to get to court, a French woman is suing the Church of Scientology in France and 7 of its leaders on claims that they drove her to financial ruin and illegally prescribed drugs.

According to the article, she “was psychologically pressured into paying thousands of pounds for lessons, books, drugs and a device called an ‘electrometre’ which the church says can measure a person’s mental state.”

If found guilty of the charges, the church’s main structure, the ASES-Celebrity Centre and bookstore will be shut down.
